Professor Hunter is a Professor of Law and Socio-Legal Studies and Co-Deputy Director (People and EDI) Division for the Study of Law, Society and Social Justice

She has written extensively about how family courts protect children and adult victims of domestic abuse in child arrangement proceedings including leading the Ministry of Justice Harm Report.

She has repeatedly warned of the dangers of the 'parental alienation' belief system and how this is used to diminish allegations of domestic / child abuse in child arrangements proceedings.
